How activation works
Three steps, about two minutes of setup, done before you ever leave home Wi-Fi.
Buy before you fly
Install the eSIM while you still have Wi-Fi at home. Installation needs a connection; activation does not.
Scan the QR code
It arrives by email within two minutes. Add it as a secondary line, and your home number stays active.
Land connected
Data starts the moment you switch the line on at your destination, not when you buy.
Install instructions by device
iPhone
- 1.Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM
- 2.Scan the QR code from your confirmation email
- 3.Label the line "RoamHalal" and keep your home line as primary for calls/SMS
Android (Samsung, Pixel, and most others)
- 1.Settings > Connections (or Network & Internet) > SIM manager > Add eSIM
- 2.Scan the QR code from your confirmation email
- 3.Set mobile data to use the RoamHalal line while travelling
Troubleshooting
The QR code says it has already been used
Each QR code installs once per device. If you switched phones after installing, request a fresh QR code from My eSIMs > Resend QR.
I have no signal after landing
Toggle Airplane mode on and off, confirm data roaming is enabled for the RoamHalal line, and check the coverage table for your destination. A handful of countries are hotspot-only.
Installation failed at the "Add eSIM" step
This almost always means the device is carrier-locked. Run it through the compatibility checker on the homepage, or contact support with your device model.
